Professional dancer, instructor, choreographer, and adjudicator Chelsea Mae Shump brings nearly 30 years of experience to VVDA.

She began her career at Theatre 8:15 under Richard Moore. Several years after his passing, the theatre group reorganized as Spotlight Theatre Company, where she served as the Assistant Director until its dissolution. She trained locally in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, acting, and singing while traveling for tap instruction.

Professionally, Chelsea danced with MorrisonDance in collaboration with NASA. She later joined RED Company real.edge.dance where she performed and choreographed innovative modern dance works across the country.

Since 2010, Chelsea has been teaching in studios, public schools, private schools, and universities. Her award-winning choreography is both fun, technical, and entertaining. She has successfully created three tap programs locally and is now creating the fourth!

Chelsea loves to teach because she loves to dance and share her passion. She values her life lessons and lifelong friendships she has made through dance. Chelsea is excited to join VVDA alongside her former students, Miss Jade and Miss Haley, and the incredible Miss Uniqke.

Miss Jade Holloway fell in love with the art of dance ever since she hit the studio at the age of 3. With extensive training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre and acro, she has been fortunate enough to travel the country to compete and perform on some of the dance world’s biggest stages. 

Her career has been marked by many prestigious awards and accolades, including the tremendous honor of being crowned the champion of World of Dance Chicago in 2021. 

Along with continuing her professional career, she is a dedicated teacher and competition director to her many talented students. Sharing her knowledge, passion and love for dance, like many wonderful mentors did for her, is one of her greatest joys. It fills her with immense pride to see her students pour their hearts and souls into bringing her artistic vision to life. 

While continuing her career in both performance and instruction, she is excited to see where her journey takes her next and is looking forward to seeing her dance family grow.
